My name is Samuel Ekandem, and I am determined to play baseball on the collegiate level. I am driven by a strong desire to learn from coaches and a passion for the game. I have been playing sports since I was seven years old. With one year of baseball, five years of basketball and ten years of soccer under my belt, I would consider myself an all-around athlete. Although I have played baseball for one year, I have worked really hard to develop my skills in the sport and perform well. In 2024, I received the AAC All-Conference award. I was also awarded the MVP award by my high school. While baseball is important to me, I strive to become a well-rounded person with good character. I try my best at everything I do, and I am always willing to learn ways to improve my skills. My parents and friends describe me as a natural leader, but I am also a team player. Although I am competitive in nature, I enjoy being part of a team and will do whatever is necessary to contribute to the success of my team. My faith in God keeps me grounded and motivates me to help others. When I am not studying or playing sports, I am actively involved in community service, working in a food pantry that supplies food to the hungry and an afterschool program that serves at-risk youth for free. Family is very important to me, so I enjoy spending time with them and I seek counsel from my parents when making decisions that could affect my future. I consider myself to be dedicated to my sport and will work hard to attain success on and off the diamond. My goals for college are to thrive in both sports and academics.
