Personal Statement

Ever since I was little, my dream has been to play baseball at a collegiate level. I love the game and my goal is to be successful on the field and in the classroom. I know in order to accomplish this, I need to continue to work hard everyday. I'm committed to giving 100% effort in the gym, classroom and on the field by doing something daily to elevate my game and make myself a better player, student and person.

The Lord and my family are the two most important things in my life. I enjoy spending time with my grandparents & cousins. Outside of baseball, I enjoy spending time in the outdoors, playing disc golf with my friends and love to fish and hunt with my dad, friends and family. The two driving forces in my life are my parents. Their work ethic has inspired me to give 110% effort in everything I do.

Logan Taylor, Oconee County (GA), 2023 Positional Profile: 3B Medium sized frame, proportional build, strength throughout. Hit: RHH. Balance setup, slightly open, smooth hand load coupled with a cocking of the wrists, short hanging leg stride, good balance, some collapsing of lower half. Easy effort swing, short path to the one, uphill through, looks to lift and drive gap-to-gap, consistent and repeatable, good feel for the barrel. Power: 91.6 max exit velocity, averaged 86 mph. 343’ max distance. Power potential. Arm: RH. INF - 86 mph. Short arm action to a high 3/4 slot, quick arm speed, easy carry, accurate. Defense: Third base profile. Plays through the ball with a confident glove, feel for back hand, fluid footwork, clean on exchanges, good body control when on the move. As a RHP, Logan is a future college SP who can come in and pitch right away for many programs. He’s got a plus delivery, arm action, and he's a tremendous competitor. He has an impressive rhythm and builds up pace gradually from start to finish which makes for considerable ease of effort. Perfect backside bend as he works downhill, creates a steep plane. Land leg works to stiff just after release, and stays balanced on his landing foot, showing ankle mobility. The FB was 85-88 with bore up & run+sink down, confidently hitting both edges low in the zone to take advantage of 1700’s spin. That doesn’t prevent his FB from playing up in the zone, as he gets lots of swing & miss there due to angle and HZB. His CB is a 78-80 tight, vertical 2 planer that he repeats his FB slot extremely well on. The pitch will be a swing & miss weapon due to velo and can even have pretty impressive sweep numbers when he goes off the glove side edge with it. The athleticism, delivery, and arm action lead me to believe he will develop a CH of the same quality.

Logan Taylor is a 2023 3B/RHP, 2B, IF, OF with a 6-0 184 lb. frame from Watkinsville, GA who attends Oconee County. Medium frame with broad shoulders and a high waist showing room to fill out. Ran a 7.15 second sixty yard dash. Primary Third Baseman, showing a good first step as he proved to have lateral range. Clean gather out front as he showed feel for glove work. Quick transfer and arm strength showing as he threw it 88 mph during drills. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, working into a side step to a belt high lift as he is balanced throughout. Medium arm circle in the back to a higher slot release. Stays compact as he goes right after hitters. Fastball up to 85 mph with good arm side run. Also mixed in a sharp slider with short vertical life in the low-70's. Pitchability present and was confident on the hill. Secondary Outfielder, sitting back a bit as he makes sure to take a clean route. Works well through the gather and carries momentum into release. Fluid arm stroke and was accurate to the bag as he threw it 86 mph. Right-Handed Hitter, starting open with the front side before working into a toe tap to stride. Works into a longer path as he stays linear. Looks to stay inside the baseball and drive it on a line back up the middle. Proved to have some feel for the barrel. Great Student. Named to Southeast Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List.

Logan Taylor is a 2023 3B/RHP/2B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Watkinsville, GA who attends Oconee County. Nice athletic build with some present strength and room for plenty more. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a good lower half shift into contact, hands are short and direct to the ball with good quickness, under control swing that he repeats well, works gap to gap with bat speed and good jump off the barrel, nice swing to build off of as he gets stronger. 7.35 runner in the sixty. Primary third baseman on defense, arm strength is his best present tool, clean arm stroke with nice carry on his throws, has some feel for his glove work and positioning, can continue to work on his lower half quickness and agility. Also pitched, slow paced delivery with the same compact arm action, lands closed out front and throws cross body. Fastball topped out at 86 mph with some arm side running life, also flashed a hard and tight slider that can be a good pitch for him. Good student. Named to the Summer Main Event Showcase Top Prospect List.
