I have been playing multiple sports since I was 3 years old such as baseball, soccer, football, and basketball. Those sports helped shape me into who I am today. They made me competitive, mentally tough, and taught me how to fight through adversity. I became interested in baseball at a very young age because I was fascinated by the way baseball worked and it has always been special to me. I have learned from myself that if you aren't mentally tough for baseball, you will never get through the struggle. Whether it is on the mound or the batter's box, you must be mentally tough.
My academic goals for high school and college are to have a 3.5 GPA or higher so that I have a high enough GPA to have the option to go to a good school and play baseball there. Additionally, I want to be positioned to get a good job after college should I not make it to the majors. One of the obstacles I had before was a lack of confidence in the batter's box and on the mound. However, I learned to gain confidence and I ended up doing great when I had confidence.
Some unique skills I have are my picks at first base, or my curveball on the mound which I struck out many kids out on, and my bat driving in RBI’s. Throwing two no hitters in one season was the highlight of my baseball career so far. That 8th grade season was great, but the season before is what shaped me into who I am. I feel I grew a lot in my 7th grade year because starting on a club team was a lot more competitive than just little league baseball. This helped me grow by teaching me to make sacrifices for the team, working a lot harder, and it also taught me how to be a leader. I was very lucky to be a part of that program because I learned that teamwork is key to winning along with having a good relationship with your team.
I'm looking for a college that fits me athletically and academically. I believe I have the talent to play at the college level and be a good leader and teammate. Also, my work ethic can make a big impact on any college which I may have the opportunity to play for. I believe I have what it takes to play at the next level and am looking forward to displaying that over the next few years in high school.
