Personal Statement

As both a player and human being, I found tremendous personal growth in my elementary years, when I had to undergo two major foot surgeries. During the time, I developed a love and desire to play the game of baseball, as I had to miss out on many experiences that my friends were able to live out. Since then, I believe my self-determination has made me the player I am today.  My appreciation of the game has not only made me see each game I play as an incredible opportunity, but each practice as a time to get better. My goal each time I go out is to improve in one area of my game, even if it is just by a little bit.

I truly believe I live up to the name of being a "student-athlete." I have maintained a 4.0 GPA for the duration of my academic career, and I don't plan to let that change any time soon.  Although at times I would much rather be on the field working on my game, I understand the importance of my education. I have found a balance of school and sports, and never let my academics get in the way of my athletic eligibility.

The last two years, I have been a Varsity level athlete for both basketball and baseball. For basketball this year, my team was able to make it to the State Championship, barely falling short and earning the second place trophy.  I hope that I can help both of my teams take a step to the next level in the years to come, and be able to earn a State Championship for both baseball and basketball.

These reasons, along with earning a starting spot on the Varsity team my freshman year for baseball, gives me the confidence I have what it takes to play at an elite level in college.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
