Wyatt Holmes '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Wyatt Holmes and I am a 6' 5" junior from Northern Idaho.  I pIay both basketball and baseball.  Baseball is by far my favorite sport and I am looking for a college program that would help me continue to sharpen my skills.  I would say that I am a strategic player and am constantly looking for new workouts to improve my numbers.  My coaches always tell me that I am easy to coach and that I have great ball anticipation and presence on the field and on the court.  I am performing in the top rankings in the state for pitching and have expanded my baseball role to also playing 3^rd and 1^st bases.  In my sophomore year as a starting pitcher, St Maries made it the state baseball tournament for the first time in 10 years.  I also started playing basketball my freshman year.  We’ve won district the last 9 years and have taken 1^st, 2nd and 3^rd place at State during my time on the team.  I am excited that I made the list of Idaho 2A players to watch out for in both sports!

I am working hard inside and outside of the classroom to become a collegiate athlete.  I come from a long line of college and professional athletes.  I’ve had around 20 family members play sports at UCLA, USC, Pepperdine, Virginia, Hawaii, Montana, Long Beach and Idaho.  My uncle, Chad Holmes, even played baseball for Cal State Long Beach and the Oakland A’s feeder team. I’ve admired all of their hard work and feel like I have similar attributes to help me get there focus, confidence, fast learner, attitude, mental toughness, discipline and dedication.
