Brent Minta '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6'0" catcher from Naperville, IL and will graduate from high school in the 2011 class. Although my primary position is catcher, I am also a starting pitcher on my high school team at Aurora Christian High School in Aurora, IL. I have a 4.13 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and scored a composite score of 29 on the ACT test I took in April 2010. I have attended several baseball showcase events (i.e., Plainfield, IL Showcase, White Sox Academy Prospect Camp, Perfect Game, and Prep Baseball Report - Illinois). At these showcases, my pop time has been consistently around or just under a 2.00. During the summer of 2010, I played travel baseball for the FCA Torchbearers 17U team. On this team, I primarily caught but also pitched and played some outfield. I am looking for a school where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the baseball field. I am looking for a university with high academic standards where I can major in Business Administration/Management with an emphasis in Sports Management. I live in Illinois, but I am open to exploring schools that are further from my home if the academic and athletic opportunities match my goals.
