I have been playing baseball since I was five years old. Ever since I got a hold of a bat and a glove, I fell in love with the game. As years have passed, I have really appreciated the game and what it has given me. My dream is to continue the wonderful game of baseball to the highest possible level and improve upon my skills so I can dominate the competition. But before baseball, academics and school come first. I take both academics and baseball very seriously; my GPA to date is 3.8 and my baseball stats continue to improve. I make sure to find time during my day to incorporate both learning and training to ensure I am improving in both.
Recently in October 2019, I was acknowledged by Perfect Game as making the All Tournament Team as a Top 10 Batter (batting ave 444) from October 2019 Kernel Foundation Championship in Cedar Rapids, IA.
As more seasons go by, I have really started to catch on to the little things that might give me a competitive edge over others. Things like UCLA stealing or calling time in the box to slow down the pitcher when he gets into a groove. That's my favorite delay tactic. I live by these little things because it only makes my game better and makes me a bigger threat when it’s time for me to meet the competition.
My goal in college is to study business. I excel in math, accounting and marketing, and find all those topics interesting. I am looking forward to my dream of playing college baseball becoming a reality. Daily weight training, skills development, and getting my batting reps will contribute to reaching my performance goals.
Once activity I take pride in during my free time is volunteering. Whenever I am not doing my homework or playing a sport, I try to use my extra time to give back to my community. I have completed over 120 volunteer service hours in my 3 years of high school and that number is going to increase with time. One type of volunteering that I have especially enjoy is helping young baseball players ages 6-13 get better at baseball. During these lessons, I work to correct all aspects of baseball skills whether it be throwing or hitting the ball. Another type of volunteering that I find very rewarding is my work with The Community Meal, a local non-profit that travels from church to church to host free meals for local residents a few times a month. I prepare and serve food for families of all ages, primarily elderly families though, and make their meals as delicious as possible. I also mingle and create conversations with guests helping to make them feel welcome.
Overall, I am very passionate about the game of baseball and I would love to find a home where I could show off my talent and be a threat to the competition. I have a very strong work ethic and always want to get better no matter how hard it might be. Thank you for spending time to learn a little bit about me, my interests and my love for baseball.
