UPDATE 10/24/2014:
2. Matt Murawski, SS, St. Rita, 2015
5-foot-9, 155-pound small, athletic, quick twitch middle infielder impressed running a 6.88 60 yard dash. Hits from a narrow, open setup, short stride, hands load back smoothly, above average bat speed with 84 mph exit velocity off the tee. Hits off back side with right-center field approach. Defensively, profiles at second base throwing 78 mph across the diamond from short, loose, high ¾ arm slot with carry. Soft hands fielding the baseball, quick and fluid footwork, plays through the baseball with quick exchanges. One of the top middle infielders in attendance at the Unsigned Senior Showcase.
Just some info about me as a player. I'm an experienced middle infielder and can also play CF. Best parts of my game are speed, glove and bat control. I have quick and explosive speed giving me excellent range on the field defensively and the ability to steal a lot of bases. Defensively I don't make many errors and have typically maintained a fielding percentage of .950 or better. Bunting is also a very effective weapon for me. I've had several hits drag bunting even when the defense knows its coming. I am the captain of my travel team and control player position/plays on the field. I play the game intense and it fires up the team around me. My goal this offseason is to add 10-20 pds. of muscle focusing on my upper half.
Coaches tell me my speed and grit cannot be taught and with some additional muscle know my best baseball years are still ahead of me. My goal is to find a college to continue my education and play baseball. My faith, family and friends are strong and prefer a college with these same attributes. Teamwork, failure, hard work, sacrifice, control are just some of the things baseball has taught me. My family supports dreaming big with a plan and hard work. In college, I plan to set my goals high and crush them with the help of the right coaches and teachers.
