Sean McDevitt '20 Recruiting Profile

   My name is Sean McDevitt, I am 6’ 01”, 175 pound senior student at St. Rita H.S. in Chicago Il class of 2020. I feel that I am a very good student who strives to accomplish a high G.P.A. and maximize my opportunities as a student. I play baseball for the Mustangs, and I am rostered on the varsity team . I play summer baseball with Top Tier in McCook, Il and have been apart of their organization since I was eight years old. I began weight, and speed training, with EFT, and St. Rita H.S. throughout the summer, and fall of 2017. Within that time frame, I gained 20 pounds, and grew several inches in height. This has helped me become more confident on the field, and has motivated me to work harder, and develop into a fundamentally sound competitor.

   I'm a right handed batter.  My primary position is shortstop, but I have also played second, and third base. I have been asked on occasion to play an outfield position and was surprised at how relaxed I was playing in that role. My strength comes through when I'm at the plate. I am maturing as a more patient hitter, and am trying to understand what a hitting approach really means to a hitters success. 

   As I have matured in life, and as a baseball player, I realized that being a great teammate is very important. Not only for my success, but for the success of the team. I am a believer that a positive attitude will create positive results. Each individual doing his part as a player, and supporting his  teammates achieve their goals will help create a positive, and infectious winning attitude. 

   I have aspirations to play at the next level. Having played for competitive programs such as St. Rita H.S. and Top Tier baseball, I am looking for opportunities to continue along a winning path. I love the game of baseball! I feel that I am a great teammate, and competitor who understands that my coaches are the authority,  and bring an intellect to the game that I have yet to experience. Knowing that there is more to the game motivates me to work hard, and have fun playing baseball.
