My name is Brock Wilson, and I’m a 16-year-old junior at Clinton Community High School. I’m passionate about sports and play both baseball and basketball, which I love for teamwork and competition. I am a versatile player, pitching, infield and outfield, wherever I am needed. I love to support my team whenever necessary.
In addition to athletics, I’m involved in several extracurricular activities. I was chosen to participate in the CICEO Program, which teaches us to become entrepreneurial thinkers. The CEO program is much more than a textbook course, we get real-life learning experiences with the opportunity to take risks, manage the results, and learn from the outcomes. Class is held from 7:00 am until 9:00 am each day, where we dress professionally and visit businesses, meet with community leaders, and learn networking skills, public speaking, and valuable life skills applicable on the baseball field, in the classroom, and for our futures. After CEO we return to regular High School classwork. I serve on the Student Council and am a member of the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. These experiences have helped me develop leadership skills and a commitment to my community.
During my free time, I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, and golfing. I also work at my local church nursery on the weekends, which has been a rewarding experience, and I’m employed at the Clinton Country Club on their groundskeeping team.
In the summer, I play travel baseball with the Yardgoats of Champaign. This summer will be my 3rd season with the Goats. This gives me the chance to refine my skills and enjoy the game I love. Millikin University Fall Baseball League is a non-competitive league that I play in to keep my skills and strength through the off-season. If I could play baseball every day I would, I just love the game. I am a very versatile player, I can pitch, play infield and outfield. Looking ahead, I would love the opportunity to play ball and attend a four-year college to study pre-dentistry, and ultimately become an orthodontist.
