One of my earliest memories I can remember is my Dad throwing me batting practice with wiffle balls in the parking garage of our apartment in Chicago during the winter. My Dad played college baseball and he taught me at a young age that fundamentals, discipline, and work-ethic is required in baseball to succeed at each level. Because of my commitment to play college baseball and do the work that is required to succeed I work part-time at a batting cage which enables me to get extra swings in on those days that I am not at baseball practice or my offseason workouts.
During my last two high school and club baseball seasons I have hit in the leadoff position which gives me a great opportunity to get on base and help my team. At the plate I have a knack for driving the ball to all fields, drawing walks, and working pitch counts. In the outfield I take on a leadership role and I am comfortable playing all three outfield positions.
In high school I am also part of DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) which is a high school club focused on developing leaders in marketing, management, and finance. Being part of DECA has taught me a lot about being a leader both in the classroom and on the baseball field. As a student-athlete and leader I know I have what it takes to make an impact on your college program.
