I was four years old when my father decided to put me in a sport. My dad always knew I would become a baseball player due to the way he said I threw a ball the first time I picked one up.
He also felt that baseball was a good sport for me because I am left handed. He always told me that there is something special about left handed athletes playing baseball.
I still hold those words dearly and make sure that in every game and in each practice, I show the talents I have acquired in the years.
Having only competitively played one sport my whole life, I have noticed that you cannot get better over night. You have to practice and fail numerous times in order to see results. You cant just settle for being 'ok' if you want to be noticed.
Two of my academic goals going into my Sophomore year of high school are to stay focused and mute all distractions. My biggest goal is to do better than I did in my Freshman year. A's and B's are great but all A's are better. My personal goal is to continue to set a good example for my younger brother and the friends I have who may not have the opportunities I have. I want to make sure I am able to help encourage them to be the best version of themselves regardless of what they may be going through.
I am a humble team player. By this I meaning, even on my worst day, I try to keep the team running whether that be my play on the field or keeping another player motivated between innings. If a coach asks for me to improve something, I make sure to work on it and get that task complete in a timely manner. I am very responsive to feedback. I am a hard working student athlete who loves God and does the right thing even when people are not looking.
