I am 6’2,” and 190 lbs. and am starting my Senior year at Hoopeston Area High School, Hoopeston, IL (home of one of the best mascots in the nation, the “Cornjerkers,” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornjerker).
Summer 2013 Update - American Legion Post 210 - Danville, IL:
This past summer I continued to work on my game while playing on a strong Danville, IL Legion Team, helping them to a final record of 26 - 8. We also finished 3rd in American Legion Junior State Tournament. I was given the Defensive Player of the Year Award for 2013 at the season end. My statistical highlights for the season include:
Junior Year - Hoopeston High School:
This was my third year on the varsity team, and I received All Area, 1st Team All Conference, and 1st Team All County honors this season. My primary position is 3rd base and I’m also a strong RHP. I am a very diverse player and can also play all infield/outfield positions. Through my junior year I have a 3.94 GPA and I received a 23 on my ACT after my first attempt.
Statistics from my junior season include a batting average of .423, on base percentage of .489, and a slugging percentage of .603. From third base I had 56 put outs with a fielding percentage of .875. And from the mound I had 56 strikeouts in 49 innings pitched. I also led the team with a 16 stolen bases at 94%. I am an strong base stealer, with 60 speed of 6.8.
I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between academics and the field. Ideally, my athletic environment would be one in which I can make an immediate impact on the team. I want to play college baseball at a school with high academic standards and a competitive baseball program.
