To My Future Coach:
I am a person who takes baseball very seriously. Education and family are and will always be important in my life as well. I have been raised to work hard and realize that God has given me a gift that I must keep working on and appreciate everyday. Mom and Dad have always expected good grades and good moral decisions. I always try to remember that what is right is always the best choice. I consider myself to have feelings for others and seem to have always tried to watch out for "the little guy" and persuade others to treat them right. I guess this is because I have always towered over most kids my own age.
In college, I would love to play baseball along with earning a degree in conservation. I love the outdoors and would love to spend my college life playing baseball and then learning more about conservation law. As I am hunter and fisherman, I find this job would be very rewarding and help citizens to do what's right with nature, so we will always have that perfect pond to catch a bass and that perfect green woods to harvest "the big one".
I love the idea of team. I feel I would be an asset to a college baseball team, as I enjoy making sure the field is just right. In jr. high and high school, I would always help with the field following the games. I am a pitcher and a catcher so I like to help make sure the mound and home plate are just what I like. I take pride and definitely feel more comfortable when I know that I and the team have worked to make the field, our home, just the way we like it.
I feel like I would be a good choice for a collegiate team because of my commitment to: baseball, an education, and hard work. I also know that I will have to help pay for college and this will make me appreciate it and work harder than some who don't have any responsibility. My parents shared with me that I started T-ball when I was 3. I was suppose to be 5 but they slipped me in because of my size. That is where it all started. Since then, I have lived baseball. I have played on travel ball teams and have trained weekly since 5th grade. During the summers, I would play city ball and travel ball at the same time. When travel ball was over, I would be on the hunt for another team who might need a sub to finish out their season. I always had luck to find one.
It is a sad day when the season ends, and even though I still train, what a long wait for the next step on the field.
