Ben Higgins '19 Recruiting Profile

I am 5’ 9” centerfielder from Macomb, IL.  Last year I completed my first year of varsity baseball and earned first team all-conference honors.  I held the team’s highest batting average at .419, and was voted the team MVP.  When the high school season finished, I continued to work on my game with legion baseball and having personal workout sessions with my coach to further improve my batting, fielding, and throwing.  Personally, I have a goal of holding the school’s all-time best season batting average.  Hitting .500, which I know I can do, will accomplish this.

This past summer, while playing in a tournament in Omaha, NE, I was able to attend a College World Series game between Oregon State and LSU.  What a thrill!  Seeing this only made me want to work harder to be able to play college ball.  Into my junior year of high school, I hold a 3.98 GPA, and even though I have not yet decided on a focus of study for college, I am excited to search for a college that can help me excel on the field and in the classroom.
