Hello, my name is Joe Swanson and I am a Sophomore RHP at St. Charles Community College. I redshirted my Freshman year due to Tommy John surgery that ended my senior year of high school after only four games, so I have a full four years of eligibility going into the spring of 2024. I’m 6’4” and 210 pounds and played 3 sports in high school (Baseball, Basketball, and Soccer). I am completely recovered from the surgery and have been throwing well without any discomfort. Unfortunately, I did not pitch much in the fall showcases due to a couple games being shortened, and likely my coach not wanting me to push me, so I am a bit of an unknown quantity. I did throw one inning in the Puma Classic in Indianapolis this fall, but it was my first game after 16 months off. I was throwing 93-94mph during my inning, but was a little wild from the rust. In bullpens recently I have been throwing 91-92 with ease (2400+ spin rate), and my slider has been around 80mph with a spin rate of around 2600+. I will just did a full bullpen with video and Rapsodo stats on all my pitches. I look forward to a great season with St. Charles this coming spring!
I wish to become a D1 pitcher for a university in the Midwest. I am a confident pitcher and feel that I have a high ceiling. My college academic GPA so far is 3.31, so I have been doing well in the classroom. I feel the last couple years I have matured as a pitcher and as a person, and I look forward to being a part of a successful D1 baseball team in the fall of 2024.
