My name is Trey Ricko and I love to play baseball. It is that simple. Over the past 14 years of dedication, hard work and setting hefty goals, I aspire to play baseball at the collegiate level. But before sports, friends and all the extracurricular activities in my life, education comes first. I have many academic goals for my high school and college careers. School is a very huge part of my life and will be for a long time. Outside of school, many things have influenced me in my life to help me become the person I am today. My faith, family and friendships have all influenced me to become a supportive and genuine person.
My baseball career is something that is very important to me. I am able to do things that most people cannot do, for which I am truly thankful and blessed. My drive and intensity on the mound is what helps me win games. As a three year old, I didn’t really know the true meaning of baseball. I became interested in the sport when my parents put me in a tee- ball league and I am very grateful it happened. Nevertheless, through baseball, I’ve learned that with teamwork, hard work, winning or losing, I hold my head up, reflect on what I could change, what I had no control over and make it happen with my next game. I play for the team first and anyone will attest that, “I will never be outworked”.
