My collegiate goals and aspirations are to build myself up to be a better baseball player in hopes of playing after college, and I want to major in geology to later become a paleontologist. The game of baseball is something I've grown to love ever since T-ball. When I started getting old enough to learn more about baseball is when I started to realize that baseball is the best sport and it is what I was made to play in my life. I'd like to start this dream of mine at a good college who can help me better myself in baseball and academics. I'm a good candidate because I always put forth my best effort 100% of the time no matter what challenge faces me. When the game gets a little rough I keep my head up and continue practicing and working until I get to where I think I need to be. I have an excellent approach to the game mentally. For example, if I strikeout, I won't lower my head and mope back to the dugout. Instead, I look back at the pitcher and I think to myself, "He's not going to get me next time." I realize that the majority of baseball is mental. I feel as though my mental state is beyond well enough to be a good player at this game. What makes me different from the other candidates is that I think about baseball the majority of the time. Whether it's what's going on in the MLB, what can I work on today, what can I do better, I'm always thinking about the game. I work so much and put a lot of time in baseball because I just want it that bad. I want the feeling of winning a college championship and knowing that I had something to do with it. I also have a very high baseball IQ and I don't give up. The word can't is not in my vocabulary when it comes to baseball. I take time out of my normal day just to watch videos of baseball and learn everything that I possibly can about the game. I'm also very competitive and like to work as a team to not only complete my goals but the team's goals as well. Even though I am competitive I like to have a lot of fun as well. Another characteristic about me is that I am very caring. I care about my coaches and teammates a whole lot when it comes to sports. As far as academics, I strive for an A-B average. Not only is baseball important to me but also my education. I try to create a good balance of education and sports in my life and I hope to be considered for your team. Thank you.
