Brady Eklund '24 Recruiting Profile

I’m currently a redshirt college freshman catcher at Garden City Community College in Garden City, KS. My family relocated to Jacksonville from Des Moines, IA last year, and it’s my goal to transfer closer to my family. 

As a dedicated student-athlete, my goal is to continue growing both on and off the field. I take pride in my work ethic, leadership, and commitment to development. As a catcher, I bring a strong arm, quick feet, and a game-ready mindset with a focus on working with pitchers and controlling the game defensively. 

Unfortunately, at the beginning of Spring I experienced a hand injury that took me out for a few weeks. With support of my coach I’ve retained a year of eligibility through redshirting. While doing so building strength, refining my skills, and focusing on the bigger picture—becoming the best version of myself and pursuing an opportunity to compete at the highest level possible.

My family’s relocation to Florida has opened new doors for me, and I’m actively searching for a program where I can contribute, grow, and align with a strong team culture and coaching staff that values discipline, development, and faith in the process.
