I am very excited to find a school that meets my athletic and academic skills and desires.
Up this point in my life, understanding my dyslexia has been my biggest obstacle. I wasn’t diagnosed until I was in middle school, but once I was and received the appropriate tutoring, I became more confident and determined. Dyslexia has taught me to work and persevere through challenges that come at you in life. There is alway a way to work through a problem. While some things take a little extra time, I now understand with hard work I can be successful.
I started swimming when I was 5 years old because my older brother was a swimmer, and I wanted to follow in his footsteps. I also followed him and joined a triathlon team for a few years. After doing triathlons I realized that I loved swimming more then biking or running. ( I still bike quite a bit with my family, though. I love road, gravel and mountain biking)
I have been fortunate to spend the last 5 summers as a camper and as a counselor in training on Orcas Island in Washington State. My experiences there have really shaped me in to the adventuresome, determined and responsible person that I am today.
My dad is an accountant, and I love order and numbers, so I took an accounting class my junior year. I love it! I plan to major in Accounting in college.
