Wyatt Colvin '24 Recruiting Profile

I am a fierce competitor, and judge myself on practical execution and results against my goals and personal development on a daily basis.  An uncompromising work ethic, high academic and athletic standards, integrity, and commitment to my family, friends and teammates are my gold standard. I’ve been elected or appointed captain to most every team I’ve played for. My academic record and athletic development benchmark my progress to play college baseball at a high level.  I‘m in the gym before school, working with Pitching Performance Lab in Lexington, KY, and have added 12mph to my fastball velo in the past 18 months. In addition to pitching, I started at third base as a sophomore and junior on my HS Varsity team which finished the 2022 regular season ranked 10th in the state.  I started every game in 2023 at the corners and pitched 35 innings with a record of 5-1. During the 2022 summer season I pitched the most innings for my team, finishing with a 1.9 ERA against top Perfect Game and PBR competition. During the 2023 summer season I pitched 34.2 innings with a 1.6 ERA and was named to the all tournament team for the prestigious Perfect Game WWBA National Championship.

I’m projectable to perform in tough situations and improve consistently, because I’m blessed to be able to do the work and have access to coaches and programs that I appreciate.  I’m a leader in the dugout, and do the things off the field that ensure I will continue to have opportunities to make the most of, and earn the respect of my coaches, peers and myself.  

One of my greatest rewards is understanding better every outing the game within the game in every pitch;  and taking something from every battle with great hitters. I don’t forget and I don’t ever go backwards.
