I am finally healthy after undergoing 5 surgeries in 6 years to repair a fractured femur, then straighten my leg and finally straighten my knee cap. My final surgery in October 2018 straightened my knee cap and allowed me to be pain free for first time in almost 7 years. I was finally released (hard to believe no more doctor appointments) from doctor's care on 8/5/2019, just under seven years from the date I fractured my leg playing football. This injury had some negative consequences on my baseball career but that is all behind me. I am ready to make the best of it and show how fresh my arm is because of the lack of wear and tear i have had on my arm the past few years.
Since August 2018, i have gained almost 40 lbs and am excited about my senior season, to see what the future holds. This will be my first baseball season to play at full strength and without pain.
I believe I can be a surprise to the coaching staff that gives me a chance, that takes a chance on a kid that has not thrown any meaningful innings in high school until his senior season. I have already added velocity to my FB this summer and threw 88 mph at a prospects camp for a La school, sitting 86-87. I believe my upside is worth taking a chance on. I plan to continue to work hard on my training and will be in the best shape of my life for my senior season.
I also plan to be at the top of my academic game this year. I realize academics are a huge part of baseball in college and plan to take advantage of the academic opportunity i will have while still getting to play baseball next year.
