I’ve loved baseball since little league. It has brought me closer to my friends and a community of competitive baseball players. My dream for college is to thrive as a student while playing baseball at the collegiate level. I see myself balancing all my interests in college: working hard in the weight room and on the field, studying for courses in the library, making music, and hanging out with friends and teammates.
I recently completed a semester at Skidmore College with a 3.92 GPA. I was also actively playing for the Thoroughbreds baseball team in the fall as a walk-on. I had a great fall season playing effectively in all my positions.
Unfortunately, as a walk-on, I was not guaranteed a spot, and because of a roster cap, the coach was unable to give me a spot on the team. Coach Plourde (Skidmore) has offered to support me by acting as a reference to other coaches and schools to tell them about the student-athlete that I am.
As of January 2024, I have taken a leave from Skidmore to spend my spring semester in Minnesota, training and playing with the Minnesota Post-Grad team. The program is 4 months of weight & speed training, positional, hitting, vision, and skills training, in addition to mental approach training, and playing a 60-game spring schedule.
I feel my academic and athletic success during my first semester at Skidmore has been a valuable experience in playing at the college level while balancing challenging coursework, and so I am looking to secure a rostered position at a high academic college where I can contribute to the team and community, and earn a BA in Business and Music.
I have always strived to be a leader for my team and teammates. I believe that my work ethic separates me from other players. I have a poster in my room quoting Babe Ruth, “Every strike brings me closer to the next home run.” This has always resonated with me; even if I’ve had a rough game—or recruiting challenge—I will still get up the next day and put in the work that is required for me to succeed next time.
