My name is Bodie Coffey; I am about to start my senior year at Massabesic High School in Waterboro Maine. I was born July 6, 2006 in Manchester NH. I am currently 5’11 and 175 lbs and in a growth spurt. I am a right handed hitter and thrower. My primary position was pitcher and catcher as I got older I got put more and more in as a catcher due to less and less kids willing to play the position. Last season I made the switch back to pitcher and second base focusing solely on those 2 positions, although I do enjoy catching, I love being a pitcher. I love the game of baseball and I have learned so much from so many coaches both on and off the field. When I was 3yrs old I started training as a gymnast and started playing baseball, as a gymnast I excelled to a level 7 being the number 2 in the New England region all while playing baseball. With the added gymnast workouts I excelled in baseball being the first 8yr old in NH allowed to play in majors level. At age 11 I gave all that up to focus solely on baseball and have played year round since then. I respect the game and all the players and coaches I have worked with. I know without all of them I wouldn’t be the player or the person I am today. I know there is always more to learn and understand the importance of being a coachable player. I am focused on school and baseball but when I have down time I enjoy golfing and fishing. Over the winter I do winter workouts with my travel team 2-3 times a week and play spring ball for school and travel ball for summer and fall. My family has always been supportive of my aspirations with playing baseball. I have always played on teams being the youngest playing up and have pushed to excel and keep up. Now that I am playing at my age level I have been able to switch back to pitching. This summer travel season I pitched 33.2 inning as a starter in 6 games, had a BB of 10, with 22 strike outs, with 1 off speed pitch and 3 additional pitches thrown to spot consistently. When it comes to college I would like to major in business/finance. I would like to assure all of the college coaches with an interest in me that I am a hard worker and driven in accomplishing the goals I set out for myself as an athlete/ baseball player. I am typically a quieter person but on the field I communicate clear and loudly. I am always open to feed back and listening to feedback. Respectfully Bodie
