Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard-KD
This is what I say each time I step into a gym. My passion since I was a toddler was basketball. I tried many sports, but my love for basketball was always first.
In 2012, I had a life changing accident. I fell off a 30 ft. rope swing and endured two surgeries and staph infection, where I was told I might to lose my foot. Determined to fight thur and follow the doctors orders, I spent 8 monts in a wheel chair, 2 months on crutches, and had to learn how to walk again. The first thing I wanted to retrain on at phyiscal therpy was basketball. I couldnt even jump a inch up, but with dermination I spent a year and half of physical training at OA to regain my speed and aglity. I was so proud of my accomplishments. In 2017,8th grade year, I was ready, the cuts came and there I was, not on the team for the first time in my life..
I took this opportunity as a chance to grow and not to allow failure to overcome me. I became more dedicated, motivated, and willing to learn and to accept all comments and crisism. I knew that I had to take a risk and push myself and join a different AAU team and local rec. ball to learn diversities of the game, with support of my family and my coaches I have exceled in my love of basketball.
