Preston Porter '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Preston. There are many things in my life that are extremely important to me and one of those is baseball. I have been playing baseball since I was four, and have played travel baseball for the past several years. Baseball brings out something in me that nothing else can. I am fortunate to be on a great team right now, with amazing teammates and knowledgeable coaches. One of the most important things to me about baseball is the family-like feel, because when you play like family you’ll win more, and nobody can deny winning is fun. I didn’t always want to play baseball at this level, I’ve played many other sports too (basketball and football mostly). I still play these sports, but baseball is number one. Throughout my baseball journey, like for everyone, there have been some rough spots along the way. For me, one of these rough spots was getting cut from a tryout. I learned from this though. I used it as fuel to my fire and have worked hard to get better every day since. 

Other things that are important to me are my faith, my family/friends, and my academics. Academically, I maintain A’s and B’s in honor’s classes, and hope to keep that up throughout high school and college. My goals are to play baseball at the collegiate level, and to work every day to become a better player, teammate, student, brother, son and friend.
