I have been playing baseball ever since I could walk, I am the youngest of 3. I have had a strong upbringing in baseball with my parents playing in the high school and collegiate levels. As a young player I suffered a serious injury to my face from a baseball, but I did not let that slow me down. I was hitting on my "hit away" the very next day. I am very commited to the sport and the team. Baseball has taught me how to work well with different personality types, and has allowed me to become a leader both on and off the field. I have been team captain and served as liason for new students to the school. Working as a team is important, but I also feel you need to lead by example. You need to give your best effort at all times. I am very motivated to improve my baseball skills and athleticism. I have put in a lot of time working out in the off season. I have gained strength, speed and endurance in the last year from just some physical maturity and the added hard work. I have several years of growth still ahead of me since I am a very young freshman. I want to be prepared for the upcoming season and stand out as a hard working, committed athlete. I played soccer this year to help me become better conditioned. I would go from the soccer field directly to the high school baseball fall ball practices or games to show my dedication, while still maintaining a 4.06 GPA. Baseball is what I want to do in college. I would love for baseball to allow me to get an education and establish a solid carreer, but I would be happy to play baseball the rest of my life. I am a lefty pitcher and first baseman but have experience in the outfield as well. I am able to switch hit. I have been a standout pitcher, last year having pitched the most strike outs on the "game changer" scoring application for my age group. I also have been very successful with my pic off move. I really love baseball and can't wait to play with others as passionate about the sport as myself.
