Throughout my life, baseball has continued to be one of my greatest teachers. Through this great sport I have learned the value of rules, limits, and boundaries. As I've grown and improved, I've learned to challenge myself, establish goals and expectations, and in due time, soar past what once held me back. But success is not a singular activity. Developing respect and trust for my teammates, my coaching staff, and the game has allowed me to grow as a person and develop into a multifaceted leader capable of working seamlessly with eight others to compete as a family.
The game of baseball has made me more than a better player; it has made me a better person. Those same attributes listed above hold an important place off the diamond. They have allowed me to become a better student in the classroom and an even better citizen for my community. Academically, I continue to hold myself to the highest achievable academic standard my school can offer, accepting nothing but the best out of myself. In service, I strive to be a prominent member of my community, constantly lending a hand to better my surroundings. I strive to earn the respect of my classmates, teachers, and coaches and give it back in kind. Most importantly, I know that anything worth having is achieved through focusing on the small things and embracing the grind in anything I do.
Baseball has become more than just a sport to me; it has become a way of bettering myself in all aspects of life.
