Personal Statement

I am a kid who grew up with dreams of one day playing in the MLB, even though very few players actually make it there. To make it to the next level after high school would be nothing short of a dream come true. I am a kid who is very competitive and works hard with anything I do. Whether it is on the baseball field, football field, or in the classroom. I take academics seriously as I know how important it is to be a student athlete and I have been rewarded for the hard-work I do in the classroom. Coaches tend to see me as a leader, as I have been named a team captain on many of the teams I have been on throughout my sports career. During practices I not only push myself to get better, but I also push my teammates to be the best they can be as well. I love the game of baseball and all the fun that comes with it.

"Devin is a tall 1B that will graduate in 2021. At 1B he shows active footwork and gains ground to the ball. Devin fields the ball low and square with firm hands. Fielding a little more in front of his body will allow him to be a more efficient fielder. His exchanges are clean as he works to get rid of the ball with a long arm action. His throws are consistent with momentum and are online to the target. A long toss program can help improve Devin's overall arm strength. At the plate, Devin sets up in a square stance getting a short stride to begin his swing. His rhythm is smooth as he keeps his balance centered as he fires his lower half. He works hard to get on plane and makes consistent contact with a line drive approach to all fields. Overall, Devin has a tall and lanky frame to build on and time to develop. We look forward to seeing his progress."
