Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Christopher Myers JR. I am 14 years old and currently a freshman at Roseville High School, in Roseville Michigan; and I am currently holding my GPA at 3.7. My height is 5’4” and I weigh 130 lbs. My primary position is Shortstop and I am also a RHP (Right Hander Pitcher). I began playing baseball at the age of 5 years old and ever since then my passion is baseball. Over the years I have overcome being one of the smallest on the field that allowed me to work ten times harder than other players. I work out three times a week with weights and get to the batting cages every two weeks, including the off season. In the off season I enjoy watching football, and fishing with the family. My family is helpful and supportive and is hard on me to reach my goals and dreams.
My collegiate goals and aspirations begin with graduating High School and with a GPA of 3.6 or higher. In this time I will be playing baseball with my High School team, staying involved with school activities and clubs, such as the National Junior Honor Society, and Roseville Engineering Science and Technology (REST). My goals are to reduce fielding errors on the baseball field and my overall goal is to go to a collage that will fit my goals and academics. My aspirations are to go to college to play baseball, but also to Major in Business Administration, or Major in Psychology for adults. Once I have graduated from collage I would love to start a family and utilize my education and skills in the field.
What make me a good candidate for team is my leadership and support for the team when we are up or down. It is vital to stay positive! Having a great work ethic is the key to success and with me; the wiliness to listen and learn is vital to have. It is also important to have great communication skills which I would bring to the team. With my readiness to learn on the field and in the classroom is significant to any success to a team and in life. I have good mechanics, but there is always something new to learn and to be able to grow to improve my game and to help others that are in need. I am great with helping others that are willing to learn with baseball or in academics. To be successful it is vital for me to stay on top of my game by studying, practicing and working harder than the next person. My key things are learning the fundamentals and crucial aspects of college classes and the game of baseball.
