Personal Statement

My name is Connor Chervany. I'm a 5'9" 165 lb MIF/OF. I'm a junior and play for Mounds View High School, one of the top teams in Minnesota. I also play for 2 club baseball teams, Great Lakes and Complete Game.

I think my greatest attribute is my versatility. I can play just about anywhere in the field. I think this particular strength would make me a worthwhile addition to a college team. My coaches would all describe me as a high-character individual, and they've also commented on my leadership qualities and my competitive nature. They have also commended my coachability.

Although I played a variety of sports growing up, baseball has become my primary sport. Up until this year, I played both soccer and basketball for Mounds View.  I think that playing multiple sports allowed me to grow as an overall athlete and made me a better baseball player. I'm also very successful in the classroom, as I have a 4.2 weighted GPA and scored a 36 on the ACT. I've taken many advanced/AP classes, and scored a 5 on all 4 AP exams that I've taken so far (Human Geography, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Calculus AB). I believe that classroom intelligence translates to the game, because I play smart and know the game well.

I'm excited to continue to grow at a high-academic school in both baseball and in the classroom. Although I'm undecided on a major, I would most likely want to major in something STEM-related. Most importantly, I look forward to strong personal growth during my college years, both on and off the field.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
