Zach Cheney '21 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to attain a baseball scholarship for college.  Right now I want to study in the field of engineering.  I am a three sport athlete, playing football and basketball as well as baseball.   One thing that makes me stand out among others and makes me a good candidate for a college team, is that I understand the whole game of baseball, not just my position.  I have a good sense of the whole field and can see the big picture of the game while playing it.  I have been playing on the varsity high school team since I was in 8th grade.  At the high school level, I have played the following positions the last two seasons: Short stop, Second base, starting pitcher, relief pitcher, outfield, 3rd base.  .  While I have been used as a utility player, my best position is short stop or second base.  During the summer on the local Jr. Legion travel team, I play Short stop or 2nd base.  I have an athletic build and sports comes natural to me.  I am a hard worker, team player and get good grades.  I am committed to a college career of baseball and will work hard to improve my overall game, skills, and self to be a successful contributor to the college team that's a match for me.
