Baseball has always been a big part of my life. Even before I could talk, my dad was pitching me a ball to hit. When I was 9 years old, spring season of little league, my coach saw that I had the ability to throw a baseball across the field straight into the players glove. From that day forward, I have worked and dedicated myself to learning the game, both from a mental and physical stand point. My parents found a pitching coach that had played for a minor league team and I began taking private lessons to help me develop the proper mechanics needed for pitching and fielding., which I am still doing to present date. The next season I pitched a no hitter! Struck out 11 batters and one ground out to me. That night I started believing in myself completely. Baseball became my passion and I have made it my goal to be the best player I could be. A coach tells me I can't, I show him I can! If I'm asked to correct, I do my best to listen and correct.
In February 2018, I was invited to a tryout with Baseball Factory, which was a great experience. My performance and skills that day gave me the opportunity to go to Omaha, Nebraska in July with Baseball Factory to a National Camp and attend one night to a College World Series Game. With my continued growth and improvement, I was asked to another camp in November at Pirate City in Bradenton, Florida. Because I have continued to excel and improve on the field, Baseball Factory has invited me to compete in the National World Series at Pirate City in July! I'm excited for this opportunity.
My determination, dedication, and perseverance has helped me become a better athlete. I tried out for my middle school baseball team and made it both 7th and 8th grade. In completion of my 8th grade season, I finished with a .500 batting average and an OPS of 1.160. I played 1st base with only 2 errors and 24 outs. I was a relief pitcher and on 1 outing in a particular game, I faced 3 batters, throwing 9 fast balls, striking all 3 batters out! Having these opportunities to play baseball with new teammates throughout my childhood has helped me grow and learn the fundamentals of the game. I am a team player and get along well with others. I have a positive attitude and encourage my teammates to perform at their best.
Entering in my freshman year at 6' 2" , 235 lbs., I plan to focus on my grades and giving my all on the baseball field, so I can one day go on to play at a collegiate level. I'm looking forward to finding a college that will give me a good education and also be able to continue to follow my dreams of playing baseball. I believe I have the dedication, talent and leadership to make an impact on a college team. With these characteristics and experiences I feel I could be an asset to any college program.
