Personal Statement

My name is Dylan Welter, I attend Pass Christian High School, and I am in the class of 2023. I am a 5’10” 150 lbs IF and RHP. My exit velocity is 93 and my infield velocity is 83 and my 60 yard dash is 7.1 seconds. My Junior year stats are as follows: Batting .341 ba, .767 ops, 9 2b, 3 3b, 1 hr, 19 rbi, and 25 runs in the lead off position; Pitching 22 ip, 33 k and topped at 87 mph. I am an IF utility player. I mostly play SS, but also play a lot of 3rd and 2nd base, as well. I play travel baseball for the East Coast Sox program.

My ACT score is a 29 composite/30 super score. My GPA is a 3.4, and I have taken and am in the process of taking a total of 7 dual credit/AP classes. My goal is to play baseball at a collegiate level at a university that is competitive athletically, and that is a good fit in my interest academically.

Several experiences have helped build my character from playing baseball to my faith. The best example is when I have found a way to combine both through the years. I have helped coach younger kids in baseball camps which is very rewarding. This year I have an opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic with the East Coast Sox on a mission trip. The purpose of the trip is to share God’s Word and conduct clinics for youth players, provide baseball equipment to the players in need, and give out food to the community in the Haitian villages. I know these experiences help me to be more grateful and a more well rounded individual and team player.

I am passionate about baseball and my passion for the game is reflected on the field. I am looking forward to playing baseball at the next level and seeing a dream come true. I believe with my hard work and athletic ability this will make me a good teammate and player at the college level.

Thank you for your time and reading my personal statement.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
