Mitchell Smith '19 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Mitchell Smith. I am entering into my senior year at Blue Springs High School.  Over the past 3 years I have been a member of the baseball & football team at Blue Springs High School.  I am also currently finishing my hours for the A + Program.  By the end of my senior year I will have 12 dual High School and College credit hours.  I have been very active in FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) as a group leader.  I made the decision to not play football my senior year to focus all of my efforts on baseball & my studies. 

I’ve had an excellent baseball experience at Blue Springs. This past season as a junior I received recognition as 1^stTeam All Area, 1^stTeam All District, & 2^ndTeam All Conference as a Utility Player/Designated Hitter. I consider this a major accomplishment since Blue Springs High School is the second largest public school in Missouri.  I am anticipating an even stronger season in the spring & can’t wait for another run at the District/State Championship. 

I have learned a lot about the game of baseball from my experiences in Summer Showcase & high school.  I have been fortunate to be surrounded by good fundamentally sound coaches who have helped me become a better player.  Baseball has taught me how to over come obstacles & keep moving forward.  I have learned that working harder than others on & off the field will provide me opportunities.  

My goal for college is to play baseball for 4 years & graduate with a major in business finance. I look forward to being a leader in college who positively represents my school on & off the baseball field.  I love to play golf, pheasant hunt, & I am a fly fisherman who can spend days at the trout stream.
