Ian ThorntonPersonal Statement
My name is Ian Thornton and I’m a Senior in high school where I’ve been a two sport athlete in baseball and basketball. As far back as I can remember, I was interested in every sport, but my favorite has always been baseball. I played CYC ball since I was 5 and added club ball to my summers and falls starting at age 8. A few years ago I was able to set up a batting cage in my yard where I spend time almost every day. My primary positions had been 3B, 1B and P, but in the last two years I have added LF, RF and 2B to my positions.
Like many others, we did not have a high school baseball season in 2020 when I was a freshman, but I started for my high school team as a sophomore with a .625 batting average. I’d like to find a baseball program where I can continue developing my baseball skills while completing my education.
