Fischer Rausch '19 Recruiting Profile

I finished up my junior year at Valley Park High School in Valley Park, MO. with a 3.0 (3.3adjusted for honors courses). I played varsity for my high school baseball team as a starting third basemen, shortstop and pitcher.  We made it to the quarter finals this year finishing with a 22-9 record.  As a starting pitcher, I finished 7-0 with 98 strikeouts and a 0.48 era.  I have been a varsity starter all three years of my Highschool career.   This summer I will play for the St. Louis Recruits, we are a Club team based in St. Louis, MO.  My position with the Recruits is starting pitcher.  I have been working year round with my coach Todd Stein to continuously approve my pitching skills.

As a pitcher, I like to play the game at my pace and lead my team to victory. As a member of the club for more than eight years, I try to encourage and lead my team to have fun and enjoy the beautiful game of baseball.  I sit 87-88 and touch 90 mph every couple of pitches. My fastest recorded speed before the beginning of the highschool season was 91.4 but feel I have passed that several times this season.  I have been diligent in taking care of my arm and done the best of my ability to stay healthy. 

My goals moving into summer ball are:

Stay healthy and in shape through my arm care routines on my off days

Continue to improve my approach to hitters and my overall knowledge of the game.

Build strength and confidence.

Have fun with my team playing a game I truly love!
