I love the game. My ultimate goal is to find the right fit at a college that meets my academic and athletic needs. At this time, as a junior in high school, I want to pursue a degree in something that has to do with athletics such as physical therapy or athletic training, and potentially be a coach someday. Academics are important, and I realize that I will get more scholarships for academics than athletics. I have a 4.0 gpa and am my class’s President. I plan to play baseball at the collegiate level.
I am a good candidate for any team because I am a competitor who knows what it takes to win. I’ve already been a starting member of four state championship teams. Our football team won back to back titles in 2016 and 2017. I played wide receiver and defensive back, earning all-state honors my sophomore year and academic all-state both of those years. For my Junior year, I played quarterback and defensive back. I earned all-conference and all-state honors as a DB. I was again an academic all-state honoree. Our wrestling team won a team championship in 2017. I placed 4th at state that year, finished 2nd in 2018, and took 3rd this past year in 2019. I have been all-conference, all-state, and academic all-state all of those years, as well. Finally, my Babe Ruth All-Star team won the 15U state championship in 2017 with my walk-off single sealing the win.
I also believe in building a “team” atmosphere and want to be in an organization with teammates who love the game as much as I do. I’m different from other recruits because I live for the “big” moments. Competing in a big arena such as Wrestling State doesn’t intimidate me. I perform during the high pressure moments, am calm, and keep my composure.
I live by the philosophy of doing the right thing. I am a leader in our school and in athletics. I am a mentor student for a 2nd grader in the elementary school. I was inducted into our chapter of the National Honor Society in spring 2018.
I also want to learn. I want to be challenged to learn all aspects of the sport. I want to be a better, more well-rounded player. I am a student of the game and can’t get enough of it.
