Tanner Black '19 Recruiting Profile

Thank you, Coach, for looking at my profile.

I love playing baseball and wish to play at the highest level I can. As a high-school baseball player, I was quickly moved my freshman year to the JV team. I made varsity as sophomore and became an instant starter.  For fall club baseball in 2017, I was selected to the top Rawlings Nebraska Prospects team where I was the starting pitcher for many tournaments, played left/center field and had one of the highest batting averages. I am a very focused and committed baseball student-athlete. My coaches express to myself and others that I am very coachable, respectful, dependable and always work hard. I have been blessed to be raised in a family built on faith, strong work ethic and personal integrity.   

Playing at the highest levels possible has pushed me to set goals, work hard, stay focused, keep a positive mental attitude and strive to deliver a consistently high performance every time I step on the field.  I take the same mindset to schoolwork.  Although not considered a “gifted” student, I continue to maintain a 4.1 GPA while taking honors and AP courses.  I am looking for a program that is a good fit for me athletically and academically. I truly believe I have what it takes to be a successful college baseball player and can make an immediate impact to your team.
