Personal Statement

Hello,

My name is Dominic McCaffrey, and I am a junior/ class of 2021 at St. John Vianney High School in Holmdel, New Jersey. At SJV, I am an honor roll student with a 3.8 GPA. I have taken many honors classes such as math, science, and engineering. At SJV, I am involved in many extracurricular activities. I play varsity baseball and football, with baseball being my preferred sport. I also play for a travel baseball team outside of my high school. I am a member of the Italian Club, the Classic Car Club, the Military Support Club, Catholic Athletes for Christ, and Heroes and Cool Kids. I do a lot of volunteer work like visiting veteran’s hospitals and food banks. I play the guitar, and have been taking lessons since I was about eight years old. I have lived in Spotswood, New Jersey my entire life.

I would like very much to study engineering in college just not sure in which field. I'm looking for a college that will challenge me academically/athletically. I would make a very good student/athlete for any college program. I'm extremely hard worker would be the first thing that comes to my mind. I'm dedicated to my team and coaches. I work on my baseball all season. I do a long toss program and work on my defense and hitting with my travel coaches. I do speed and agility few times a week and put my time in the gym after school. I'm working on getting stronger and faster. I'm looking forward to have a very successful baseball season this coming spring. I believe I'm someone a coach would love to have because I love to compete. Please see my profile and video.

Thank you.

Dominic McCaffrey
