Personal Statement

As a baseball player and lover, I started playing baseball when I was ten years old. When I first contacted this sport, I found that I have great enthusiasm for baseball. So I played baseball with my friends or family every weekend. When I was 16, I decided to join the professional baseball team in my high school in Taiwan to improve my baseball skills. In the first year I attended this team, I won third place in the YangMingShan Cup, which is a competitive competition in Taiwan. It gave me a lot of confidence to continue doing what I love.

After moving to the USA, I got into Hudson Catholic High School in New Jersey and also attended the baseball team in my first year of high school. Last year, we won 13 out of 19 games and made it to the HCIAL championship game. Although we lost this game 5-4 in extra innings, I learned to face problems when in tense situations. This game made me understand my shortcomings and made me powerful to face the next game. In our team, I am not only a completer finisher, but also a team worker. I am good at boosting our morale. When the team morale was low, I always cheered everyone up by bringing them happiness.

As a baseball lover, my interest is not limited to sports. I am also interested in engineering and my dream is to become an astronaut. When I was little, I learned to program LEGO robots. I participated in a Suzhou-Taiwan Youth Science and Technology Creative Innovation Competition in China and won the first prize. On the road to my dream, I keep learning at odd moments and I am active in discussing questions with my teachers after classes. Moreover, I received First Honors in academic performance at my high school. I accumulate my strength by making efforts in everything in my life. In any aspect, I show my passion and ambition to become the best one. Take from society, give back to society. I want to contribute to human beings by being an astronaut, that’s why I want to study aerospace engineering.

I aspire to play baseball at a good university. I will continue to strengthen myself and continuously learn related knowledge to prepare for my college life. I believe that I will achieve my dream in the future.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
