William Hopkinson '20 Recruiting Profile

In the fall of my freshman year, I set a goal to be the starting shortstop for my high school’s Varsity baseball team.  I attended every practice that was available and made a habit of being the first to show up and the last to leave. I was so grateful when my coaches gave me the opportunity to start. That spring, we won the New Jersey Group II State Championship and it has been the highlight of my high school career thus far.  I learned the value of teamwork, commitment and sacrifice.

While my primary position is middle infield, I have also proven my ability to be versatile and step into any position, outfield and pitcher, whenever needed by my coaches.  For the last 3 years, I have played on many of the top teams in my club program, sometimes playing up several age levels.  This invaluable experience has allowed me to become a solid player capable of playing at the college level.

I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact to a program.
