My name is Michael Matthews II. I am a student of the 2023 class at Cherokee High school in Marlton, New Jersey. I am a multi-sport athlete, but baseball is the sport that I mainly desire to play in college. Other sports that I have had experience playing are soccer and basketball.
Both of my parents attended college and my father was recruited to play basketball in college and he has helped me understand what to expect during the college recruiting process.
As for what I can bring to a team, I am coachable and will buy into what a coach is trying to say to help me and the team improve. I have played multiple positions for my team. I started off playing baseball at the age of 7 as a catcher and a switch hitter. Now I bat mostly from the right side, pitch and play centerfield. But if needed I can play any position. During my club seasons, I have batted everywhere in the lineup, pitched in big games and played every position in the outfield to help my team win.
I have grown a lot playing baseball. Facing adversity has taught me how to take responsibility and be a strong leader. I have also learned how to keep a positive attitude and just move on to the next play. I'm excited about my future and know that NCSA will give me a chance to showcase these talents for college coaches.

- Coach Cesar Garcia - Garcia, who is currently the head coach at Winslow Township, started out his coaching career at Camden County College. But it is his work on the side, mostly with pitchers, that has paved the way for success. He has worked with multiple local players, many of which have come from the Hopewell area, including current Hun pitcher Andy Blake, current TCNJ pitcher Josh deDufour, and Hopewell Valley ace Tony St. John. His client list also extends all the way to Los Angeles, with Angels pitcher JC Ramirez, who is also from Nicaragua, one of the players he trains.
