Personal Statement

When I was a baby and not even walking yet, I was taught how to throw a baseball. Right then and there, I immediately fell in love with the sport. My real father, would always roll a baseball to me, and I would throw it back, we would do that for hours on end. My father always made sure I was throwing it back with my left hand. His goal was to make me throw with my left hand, it most definitely worked. A couple years later, my real father left. Leaving my mother, my two brothers, and I. At a very young age, I had to step up for my brothers, take control, and not only act like an older brother. But also act like a father to them. This has influenced everything on my life, helped make me who I am today, it taught me, not to ever give up.

Throughout all of the years of me playing baseball, the one thing I learned about myself is confidence. I have been on both sides of this, with baseball, you need confidence. You need to believe and trust in your pitches, your at-bats, when you’re getting ready to steal a base. You need to be confident.

Right now, I had to overcome several obstacles to get where I am. I had to push myself, not only on the athletic fields, but in the class room. I put in many hours making sure that I am staying fit, making sure that my pitches are working well, making sure that I’m taking nice cuts, and most of all making sure that I’m managing my grades.

From 8th Grade until Sophomore year I attended, Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, and that school really showed me many different things. It showed me respect, integrity, faith, and discipline. Respect, by respecting others, on and off the athletic field. Integrity, by doing the right thing even when no one else is looking. Faith, this trait has really meant a lot to me, this is having faith.. or should I say trust. I have trust in myself, and in my team. And Lastly, Discipline. Discipline is the most important in my perspective. Discipline is doing what you need to do, when you don’t want to do. All those days that you don’t want to study, all those days that you don’t want to give it your all. All of those days. You still do it. You still push yourself to the best of your ability.

I now currently attend Woodbridge High school back at my hometown in New Jersey.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
