Personal Statement

My goal is to play college baseball because I enjoy the game as it relaxes me and keeps me grounded. Some other interests of mine include making and editing film, painting, and camping. I am involved in two groups at my school called Helping Hands and Outdoor Leadership where I get to volunteer to help with various drives to support our community and be a part of camping trips and outdoor activities. I get to mentor younger students at my school through these programs as well. I love working with kids because they are fun and I get to be a good role model to teach them about what I was taught in the game of baseball, how to draw, and pass down my learning to others. I go to a school called Sandia Preparatory School which is a private school. I chose this school because I want to go to college and wanted to be properly prepared to be successful in college. Sandia Prep is more challenging than regular public schools in my state and they have higher standards which pushes me to be the best that I can in the classroom and on the field. It isn’t easy but it is teaching me to have a good work ethic, stay on track with deadlines, and to persevere. I am excited for my upcoming years as a young adult and look forward to learning as much as I can and being better every day.
