Jacob Ritchie '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jacob Ritchie. I am currently an eleventh grader at South Rowan High School in China Grove, NC. I am a three sport athlete playing football, basketball, and baseball. My favorite sport is baseball and I play catcher mainly but I also pitch and play third base. In basketball I am a power forward and in football I play inside linebacker. I am a straight A student so far and am looking forward to my sophomore year in high school. I really enjoy Science and Math in school. I also enjoy learning about animals. I am very involved in my church and community. I also enjoy playing the tuba and singing at church.

Last year (May 2018) I suffered a fractured fibula paying baseball but have made a full recovery from the injury.  I feel like the injury was very helpful to building up my confidence in all of my sports because it helped me understand what type of player I am and I had the ability to overcome the adversity that was thrown my way. I was even able to see baseball from a different perspective while watching my Junior Legion team play. My personal statement will change throughout my path through high school.
