I began to love the game of baseball in t-ball. Since that young age I wanted to pitch even when the players weren't allowed to. That love for pitching grew into little league, then travel ball, then to where I am now in high school. Given that I am an extremely competitive person, baseball is a perfect sport for me since it is purely based on competition from pitch to pitch.
The highlight of my baseball career so far was being able to start the first playoff game of my sophomore year and ultimately getting a win in that game. This game alone helped to further my growth as a player and heighten my love for the game which I didn't even think was possible.
I value the quality of leadership and view it as one of the most important aspects of my game. I was named captain of my high school baseball team by my teammates as a junior because of my leadership qualities. I believe that I have the work ethic and leadership skills required to play baseball at the next level.
I want to find a college that will be able to provide a good education experience along with a good athletic one. Given that there is a life after baseball, a high quality education is extremely important to me.
