Hello, My name is Abraham Vasquez and I am a sophomore at Whetstone High School. My goal for athletics is to continue to play baseball at the next level whether that be in college or in a higher league. As my academic goal, I strive to pursue a career in Chemical Engineering to make medicine and to further my studies/interest in both subjects. I am very dedicated to these goals of mine and always seek to improve my skills both in and out of the classroom. My hard work and dedication will lead me to these goals but its up to me to work for them to be met and I will never stop working hard towards them.
I believe that a team requires a place where everyone is positive and contributes something whether it be runs or energy, a team player. I view myself as a team player and believe that a team isn't reliant on talent but rather everyone working as a one and contributing positively. I am a very hard worker and always seek to play, train, and be better than the guys ahead of me while also bringing up those who mess up and leading them onto the next play. Coach-ability is important to me and I always want strive to improve my skills to become the best player I can be. Whether it be on the field or in the classroom, I always view things as a challenge and want to do my best but if it results in failure, I use that experience to learn and grow as a student and player.
What makes me different from other recruits and players is that as I think of baseball as a game based on a teams energy and confidence rather than talent because while yes talent can get you far, you can't win with talent alone. I own up to mistake and don't blame others or use excuses, I take leadership on the field when I can and enjoy using my voice to bring up others on the field and off the field. Hard work and dedication can help me reach my goals and if one is met and not the other I will be happy because both are my dreams. Academics come first always and I understand that without the grades I can't play baseball which is why I try so hard in the classroom for the love of the game as well as to have a back up in case. I work hard everyday to make sure I am the bets I can be and as I said before, I try to train, play, and work harder than the guy in front of me.
Thank you for looking at my profile and I hope we talk sometime.
