I have been playing sports all of my life, and I can say baseball is my favorite by far. The aspect that I really enjoy about baseball is its teamwork and camaraderie. When one person isn't doing so well, the rest of the team can pick them up. I have always wanted to contribute the most on my team, regardless of the sport. "Contributing" to me doesn't necessarily mean getting the highest stats or throwing the fastest, but by fulfilling your role to the best of your ability. I like to try to lead my teammates by example and pick them up when they are down. I am very coachable and driven, and even though I might not have always been the strongest or the fastest, I now train my body more often, and more seriously, to increase of physical development.
When I am not playing or practicing baseball, I am either studying, doing homework, volunteering, or spending time with friends and family. Having a balanced life is very important to me, and even though academics are also very important, I don't consider them to be more important than my friends, teammates, and family. So far, trying to balance everything has worked well, and I have been able to maintain solid social group, a high GPA, and room for plenty of family time.
I want to go to a school that provides the best possible opportunities and options for me later in life. Some day I hope to become a doctor, and I want to go the right school that can help me make that happen. I wish to go to a school that challenges me academically, but also allows me to balance it with my friends, baseball, and family as well. In the end, I want to contribute as much as I can to society just like I want to contribute as much as possible in baseball, too.
