Ethan Beard '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello- My name is Ethan Beard; I am an Junior attending North Central High School in Pioneer, Ohio.  I currently stand 6’0 weighing 160 pounds. Not only do I hit right-handed, but I also throw as well as pitch with my right arm.  Although my primary position is pitcher and secondary being Third Base or Outfield, I feel like I can play anywhere on the field. 

Ever since I was a young child, my hands have not gone a day without tossing a baseball, basketball, or football around with a parent or a pickup game with neighborhood friends! But one game that has always filled this burning desire within me to compete at the highest level has always been baseball. There grew a deep bond between myself and baseball; whether it’s me watching or me playing the game, I've always found a connection within it. I share this connection with my teammates that push me to be the best every day, not only for myself but for those competing alongside me.  

I have very high expectations for myself on and off the field. Within the classroom, I carry a 3.95 cumulative GPA, most of them being advanced classes. I rank number 6th in my class out of 72, and I have always carried A’s thus far throughout my education. 

Playing baseball at the collegiate level is and will always be a dream of mine. Should an opportunity present itself to allow me to showcase my talents, I would welcome it with open arms. If it meant a coach seeing something within me as an observation, and it required changing my position, I’m certainly willing to be coached and will consider any advice valuable. Many of my present and prior coaches tell me I'm coachable, and I always soak in their advice. I understand I may have shortcomings as everyone does, but the difference is I embrace the critique and grow with it.  I would consider myself a hard worker, yet I realize there is a lot to still develop in my game. During the next couple of years, I will continue to push myself to take my game to the next level.
